General FAQs
Fans of Pets is a nonprofit platform that connects adopters, shelters, and individuals who need to rehome pets. It centralises pet adoption listings so that animals have a better chance of finding safe, loving homes.
No, Fans of Pets is not a shelter. We don’t house animals. We only provide the platform for shelters, rescuers, and individuals to list pets available for adoption.
No. You can browse, search, and even shortlist pets without logging in. Only if you want to list pets (as a rescuer, shelter, or pet owner rehoming a pet) you’ll need to sign up.
No. It’s completely free for adopters, shelters, and pet owners. We are committed to staying nonprofit.
Every pet listing has a “Report” button. You can use it if you notice anything suspicious, inaccurate, or inappropriate.
We don’t intervene in the adoption process. Adopters and rescuers need to directly communicate and verify each other. However, we encourage shelters and rescuers to follow their standard adoption checks.
It’s optional. You may choose to share your phone, email, or only use in-platform contact methods. If you’re unsure, share minimal details until you’re confident in the adopter/rescuer.
Shelters & Rescuers FAQs

You can log in to your dashboard and toggle the pet’s status. The listing will automatically update with an “Adopted” ribbon.
Pet Owners FAQs
Yes. We allow individuals to list their pets if they are unable to care for them, so long as it’s genuine and humane.
No. Individual users do not get shareable profiles. Your listing will show only the pet’s details and your contact information (if you choose to share).
You can mark the listing as “Adopted” in your dashboard, so others know the pet is no longer available.
No, it’s completely free.
Try to share clear photos, accurate details (age, breed, vaccination status), and a short bio about your pet’s personality. This helps adopters make the right choice.
For Adopters
Browse the listings, shortlist pets you like, and contact the rescuer/shelter directly through the contact details provided on the pet’s page.
No. Fans of Pets never charges adopters any fee. Some shelters may ask for a small adoption donation to cover vaccination or medical costs, but that is directly between you and them.
Yes, but you’ll need to coordinate transport with the shelter or rescuer. Some may be willing to help with relocation, others may prefer adopters closer to them.
All listings show the current adoption status. If a pet has been adopted, you’ll see an “Adopted” ribbon.
Make sure your home is pet-safe, discuss with family members, and be ready for the responsibility of food, medical care, and regular attention.
