1. About Us

Fans of Pets is a non-profit initiative providing a free, centralised platform for pet adoption. Our mission is to connect rescuers, shelters, and individuals with loving adopters so every pet finds a safe home. We will remain non-profit forever, with no charges for adoption listings or adoptions.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our website, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create a listing or adopt a pet.
  • Visitors under 18 may browse listings but cannot post or adopt.

4. User Types & Responsibilities

4.1 Shelters & Rescuers

  • May create a public profile visible to all users.
  • Must provide accurate shelter details, pet listings, and medical information.
  • May add optional donation details but must not request adoption fees.
  • Are responsible for screening adopters and ensuring pet welfare after adoption.
  • Must not post pets not under their care.

4.2 Individual Pet Owners (Rehoming)

  • May list pets for adoption but do not have a public profile.
  • Must provide accurate details about the pet (health, vaccination, behaviour).
  • May not operate as a shelter or for commercial purposes.
  • Adoption fees are strictly prohibited.

4.3 Adopters

  • Adoption is free – no user should request money.
  • Must adopt pets with the intent to provide a safe and lifelong home.
  • Are responsible for verifying pet details before adoption.
  • Should report fraud, abuse, or illegal activity to us.

4.4 Visitors / General Users

  • May browse listings and shortlist pets without creating an account.
  • Shortlists may be stored using cookies.
  • Must not attempt to misuse or exploit the platform.

5. Prohibited Activities

  • Selling pets or demanding adoption fees.
  • Providing false or misleading information.
  • Uploading offensive, harmful, or illegal content.
  • Harassing, spamming, or defrauding other users.

6. Our Role

Fans of Pets is a platform only. We do not intervene in adoption arrangements, guarantee user-provided details, or take responsibility for pet health or post-adoption outcomes.

7. Content & Intellectual Property

  • User-uploaded content remains yours, but you grant us a licence to display it within our platform.
  • Our brand, design, and features remain our property.

8. Liability

We are not liable for disputes, damages, or harm resulting from listings or adoptions. The site is provided “as is” without warranties of uninterrupted service.

9. Termination

We may remove listings or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the site means you accept the changes.
